We are a small dynamic group of South Africans, who have a passion for educating and equipping students from all walks of life, with a set of skills to enable learners to achieve their full potential. Our story starts from humble beginnings with a desire to educate our own children differently. After teaching in an independent private school in Northern Natal, gaps were seen in the standard curriculum and we wanted to focus on a more holistic approach, where there is a greater emphasis on character development with a more personalised learning approach. Hilldrop Heritage School, a family venture, was born in 2003 and currently educates approximately 130 students, in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal. |
Although Hilldrop Heritage School is still thriving, we see a great demand and need to provide an affordable, online, and effective education for children. After ample research, we found a curriculum that we loved through which we could successfully achieve our vision and maintain our mission. We provide a personalised learning approach from Grade 0 to Grade 12, with an individualised learning program for each student. Students can work at a pace that suits them while still achieving the goals and objectives of the curriculum.
A child can join from anywhere and start at any time! Grade 9 - 12 Our students choose 1 of 2 options from Grades 9 to 12, GED® or American High School Diploma. We offer individual student monitoring with progress reporting.
GED®
A Grade 12 alternative that is recognized by SAQA as the closest comparable qualification to the National Senior Certificate (NQF4). This is a flexible, self-paced, and internationally recognised curriculum.
American High School Diploma AHSD is our world-class internationally accredited High School Diploma. This is equivalent to the Cambridge A levels matric or South African Grade 13. Students work at their own pace on their own proficiency level.
